Spanish Criminal Record Check
There are various reasons that a person could be asked for a Spanish Criminal Record check, such as a dangerous dog licence in Spain, a new vocation abroad involving children etc.
The certificate is obtained from the Ministry of Justice in Madrid and can be obtained in 3 different ways.
The first option, involves a trip to Madrid, by appointment, to request and obtain the certificate.
Alternatively, if you have a digital signature (see relevant page), then this is fairly straight-forward to obtain. Complete the onlineform, pay the fee and a few days later the certificate is ready to download.
Without a digital signature or a visit to Madrid, the application must be posted, along with the appropriate fee and certified ID documents. Unfortunately, it takes at least 5 weeks for the certificate to be received by post.
